Another league year has drawn to a close here at Poker @ Rob's. The year saw the introduction of the Adam Rule, a rained out rebuy, and a wide variety of new players to the game. Posted below, for posterity's sake, is the final rankings for the league members.
I'll recap December's game below and then post the results for October & November below that.
Last night's final game was a good one. Nikki had all but clinched the victory for the league before the game even started. Based on historical numbers Brett would have had to win and knock out almost everyone to get enough points to steal 1st away from Nikki. Also, she would have had to go out early and not get any points. That didn't happen. Behind Brett were 4 players within reach of taking over second place: Jeff, Iwan, Brent, and me. I didn't get there. Iwan fell a few points shy of bumping Brent out of 4th. But the big news was Jeff, who steamrolled his way through the field to win the event with six kills giving him 94 points and JUST enough points to squeek past Brett into 2nd place for the league! Nice Job Jeff! Congrats Nikki! Way to go Brett & Brent! It looks like we'll be back in 2009 for the 3rd season of the league! Watch for the dates for the first events soon! Bounty games will be back and we may do a regular rebuy event instead of a low buy-in event. We'll see! We'll also gauge interest for a different game some night like Omaha.
