The 2007 poker season came to a close last night here at Casa de Rob's. While the turnout, at only eleven players, wasn't what I was hoping for the season closer it is understandable. With Christmas only a week away there are lots of other things that take precedent over playing poker. We did welcome a new player, Sam, to our game.
Last night went really quick at the beginning and then when it got down to the final four things just seemed to stall. No matter what moves were made it just seemed that no two players were picking up a good hand at the same time. I continued to slowly lose chips when in the big blind I looked down to see 89s. Nikki had raised essentially enough to put me all in so I push and she calls. She turned over KQs. The flop delivered a 9 for me and then followed it right up with a Q for her. This made Adam very happy as my fourth place finish guaranteed him first in the league.
I'm sure Nikki will post her thoughts on the night over on her blog so you can head over there to read about the winner's thoughts.
So the 2007 league season comes to a close. The final results are up top but that will change when 2008 arrives so here are the final results for posterity:
We've got some new things planned for the 2008 season including a rebuy tourney as well as at least one bounty tourney. The season kicks off January 19th so hopefully we'll see you all there!
